I grew up living with my grandparents, my mom was very young and an artist and although she wasn't around a lot when I was little, I looked up to her so much (were best friends now so don't feel bad haha).
I wanted to be good at something, find a purpose, so I dabbled in drawing, singing, tried playing guitar, tried dance, got into soccer for a bit but nothing made me feel a burning passion.
One day (around 12 years old) my grandparents got me a little orange camera from Walmart, I honestly dont have the most amazing memory but this moment i'll forever remember. Once I got home and started taking pictures I was hooked, freezing a moment to come back to, that makes you feel something was so special to me.
As I grew, so did my love for photos, it became one of the only things that made me happy but I didn't know what to do with it. My anxiety and depression was getting so heavy throughout high school, graduation was coming and I honestly didn't know what to do.
One day I got a message from a couple wedding photographers around the city asking me (YEAH I KNOW ME) to second shoot. Although I was so nervous and didn't think I was good enough, everything in me told me to go for it.
I am so happy I did; I second shot a lot that year (thank you to everyone who helped me start my career) and then the next year I was booked up for weddings of my own, I worked super hard and endless amounts and then in 2018 I became a legit legal business baby!
When I was growing up the only other career I ever considered was filming music videos, I just love the cinematic, emotional way you could tell a story. I think that's why I'm very inspired by movies and music videos, I want people to see my work and feel brought into that moment.
Something else that inspires me is YOU, every shoot would be the same if every couple was, the more I get to know you and what you love the more interesting my job gets.
My overall "philosophy" is that I want my couples to not feel stuck or placed.
I give directions so that people have something to do and because everyones different, it allows people to do things how they naturally would. When you think about it, unless you're an actor/actress, being placed in front of a camera and instantly showing your emotions is hard, it needs to be evoked and that's what i'm here for.
MY HUSBAND: CLASSIC but whatever it's true, we have been together since grade 9 and have grown together ever since. I think I admire that "best friend type of love" because it's close to home. That childish goofiness along with being each others rock when you need it is everything all in one.
MY FRIENDS: I've had the same group of friends since kindergarten, we are extremely lucky. I honestly think we will be friends until we are super wrinkly,
MY FAMILY + MY DOGS: My grandparents and my mom are my world, we talk everyday. I grew up with all of them so we have always been close but since my Nana got cancer in 2020 we have been closer then ever, all of us cuddling for movie night all the time, even the 2 huge dogs haha. My dog Nacho is my best bud, if you see a weird/cute ass orange dog in my Instagram stories ever, thats my girl Nacho.
Because my life is mostly work, anytime I have off I spend with my family, friends, dogs and husband, I think that's why I value those things so much when it comes to photos.
Capturing organic, intimate moments between not only a couple on their wedding day, but with their families and friends is so important to me, they are apart of your story. They are some of your favourite things, I mean they certainly are mine.
Most of my clients come to me because they want that natural candid feeling to their photos, yet almost all of them will say when they inquire "we don't really know what to do" or "we are kinda awkward in front of the camera". Don't you worry, that's what i'm here for.
As soon as we first meet for our shoot, i'm overcome with excitement, (I only drink chai lattes so I can't blame it on caffeine haha), I'll help guide the whole session so you not only don't feel stuck in a pose but also for what to do. These photos are for you, so just let go, have fun and let me do the rest.
When it comes to your wedding day, you may or may not get a text the morning of, something along the lines of... "OH MY GOSH YOU ARE GETTING MARRIED TODAY!!!!" (i'm genuinely surprised my exclamation button hasn't broken yet).
When I arrive you'll already know me, it's just Kass, I value getting to know each other so if we haven't shot together, we will have had many chats before hand. At this point you just get to live your day as it unfolds, be present in it, I'll be introducing myself and joking around with your friends and family, capturing the details and all the moments, for you to relive later.

Kass was everything we could have hoped for on our wedding day. She is like a ray of light everywhere she goes! Being a photographer myself, I knew that there was absolutely no one else that I wanted to capture my wedding! The photos are outstanding and I love looking through them and seeing all the little moments she captured that I never want to forget. I will never stop raving about Kass, she is an amazing individual, she pours her heart into her work and it shows!
First, I will say that I have been in love with her work since we met 3 years ago. She is so incredibly talented and tells such beautiful love stories with her photos.
Second, she made the two most awkward people in front of the camera not only look amazing, but more importantly feel amazing! Our engagement shoot and wedding photos felt so natural and relaxed, and like us!
